I got to experience one of these recently on a playcation, and let me tell you: they get VERY brutal VERY fast. Certainly brutal enough to bring out my animal side which tries to find a way to yank off the alligator clips.
I would agree that there is a lot of interest in field telephone crank generators. A lot of confusion. I think an interested user might want to start with a TENS unit before working up to this.
